Every candle brand starts somewhere. For some, that's a full private label program with custom fragrance, custom vessels and retail-ready packaging. For others, it's a first order to test a concept, a short run for an event, or a few pounds of wax and a box of wicks on a kitchen counter.
Modern Candle has manufactured candles for brands since 1978, and our production programs are built for scale. If you're not there yet, that's fine. It's exactly why we built Aroma Crafters.
What Aroma Crafters is for
Aroma Crafters is Modern Candle's sister brand for makers and early-stage brands. It covers two needs that a full production run doesn't:
- Small custom candle runs. Choose from ready-to-brand formats like an 8oz classic candle (with or without a box), a 7oz amber apothecary jar or a 4oz gold tin, then add your own label. It's a fast, low-commitment way to get a branded product in customers' hands.
- Candle-making supplies. If you pour your own, Aroma Crafters sells the same kinds of components we rely on in production: soy and coconut-soy blend waxes, glass jars and lids, wicks in a range of sizes, fragrance oils, and the Wick Centering Device for straight, consistent wicks.
When Modern Candle is the better fit
Move to a Modern Candle program when you need things a small run can't give you:
- A custom fragrance developed and tested for your brand
- Custom or sourced vessels, lids and packaging beyond stock formats
- Retail and wholesale volume, with consistent batches you can reorder
- Compliance support: Modern Candle offers all the testing required for compliance at the state and federal levels
- A choice of manufacturing models, from fill-and-pour to turn-key
Modern Candle production programs start at a $5,000 minimum order, and every program is quoted to your specs.
A simple way to decide
- Testing an idea, launching a first product or making candles yourself? Start with Aroma Crafters.
- Ready for your own fragrance, packaging and volume? Talk to Modern Candle.
Many brands do both: they prove demand with a small run, then move into a full private label program once the orders are there. Because both brands come from the same manufacturing team, moving from one to the other is straightforward.
